Default In 7.3 - Old plugins are gone

I just upgraded to 7.3.1 CS2 from 7.2.
And noticed that some of the old plugins were gone.
When I opened up the DEMO session, "Meant to Be"
The Missing Plugin Dialog box opened up listing the following.

1-Band EQ 2
4-Band EQ 2
Compressor

I found the the EQ 2 plugin in
C:\ProgramFiles\Common Files\Digidesign\DAE\Plugins(Unused) folder.

How did it end up in here?
Am I suppose to manually copy it over to the plugins folder?

And where's the original "Compressor" plugin?

Thanks
Tomio

FAQ 24342 should help explain this.

Default Re: In 7.3, etc - Old plugins settings are lost

So, Digi

This brings up the general question,

"How do I take other previously working settings files and 'promote' them to newer plug-ins."

Is there a way to read a previous settings file (like .tfx) and transform into settings we can use in our newer plug-ins?

For example, when I watch my "Mix It Like A Record" video and see a number of plugins that I
don't have [although I have similar ones; maybe not TLSpace, but I do have a convolution-reverb], how can I translate these to my plugins if I can't see the previous plugins settings?

I would think I should be able to use a hex-dump utility, and knowing the .tfx file format, read the contents and at least hand-translate these settings.

What is DIGI's solution?

TIA,
therm
