Anyone here have a Mojo with 8.0.3 that plays quicktimes flawlessly?

Just a shot in the dark, I am tired of waiting for a digi update, just wanted to compare rigs. maybe there is some special magic in a different system that makes it work.


So.. if anyone has an Avid Mojo and 8.0.3 that plays quicktimes (DV, h264, Motion JPEG A etc.) perfectly, please chime in.

Grew tired of waiting too and upgraded media station to Media Composer for qt to mxf conversion.

Not a fan of any QuickTime. Love rock solid mxf avid/mojo combo

separate machine, sepearate start up disk or co install?


I am thinking of getting a second machine, going the mc with vid satellite route since we have media station 1.8.2 and the upgrade is about 500 US dollars.

I am bumping this because I know there are general QT issues, but I want to here from fellow Avid Mojo or Mojo SDI users.

It's not as good as it was on my previous system but mine plays out fine.

We upgraded from G5, 10.4.9, HD7.3.1 & Sync to an Intel, 10.6.2, HD8.03 & SyncHD. It plays out PAL QTs fine, MXFs fine. It's a little poor when playing out 24fps session. But as we don't want to upgrade the Mojo just yet we're feeding the SyncHD PAL clock. System locks and all fine. Otherwise the Mojo wont play a 24p QT.

I have 3 OS builds currently.

10.5.8 PT HD 7.4.2 plays quicktimes PERFECTLY
10.5.8 PT HD 8.0.1cs1 plays quicktimes worse
10.6.2 PT HD 8.0.3cs1 plays quicktimes TERRIBLY


All out the same rig with the same clock source, same mojo, same DV25 File.



I only went to PT 8 when 8.0.3 came out.. it seems as if PT 8 broke quicktime out the mojo capability and has only made it worse with each revision.

Quicktime X is surely a suspect though isn't it? By the by, 10.6.3 is out...with QTX fixes!

Yes but why would 8.0.1 on 10.5 be noticeably worse than 7.4


I hope digi mentions something about 10.6.3 soon, I dont want to be a guinea pig! but yeah a ton of quicktime compatability improvements, hopefully it fixes these issues!
