Mix bus help!
Is there any difference between mixing internaly to pro tools and mixing in subgroups and then output the subgroups to 16 direct outputs from pro tools to a high quality line mixer? The problem of the bad sounding pro tools mixer remains if you mix in 8 stereo subgroups??
Thanks in advance Kostas Kalimeris Producer/engineer |

Re: Mix bus help!
Hi,
Unless you have a *stellar* line mixer, I can't imagine doing a D/A out of PT to a line mixer is going to sound superior. Now if you have a good quality digital mixer, that might be another story. To answer your question, the outputs will go through the PT mixer. tech |

Re: Mix bus help!
Thanks Tech
I am thinking of using a Manley or Millenia line mixer to get a fuller sound instead of mixing internal to protools. What about mix headroom? |
