Scratchy like a dirty pot or is it digital zipper noise? I've had the latter on some plugins from various developers when I move controls even when there's been minimal processing going on.

Avid Audio Engine and plugin setting are all in the prefs. I've fixed similar issues to this before by pref trashing. Certainly your first point of call.

Otherwise continue with the virtual switch cleaner

Thank you for contacting Waves Tech-Support.

Changing parameters during playback might introduce some momentary artifacts.
With CLA-2A this would happen only with the Gain knob.
With CLA-76 this happens with both the Input and Output knobs.

This is a known issue which would be addressed in the future. No ETA at the moment.

WOW !!!

SomWaves are saying "don't touch" the plugin parameters while playing

That totally makes it unusable as you would have to start and stop every detailed change in settings to hear .. blaaah

At least it's a known issue and Waves did say they are working on it. I'd consider that good news.

I've been running those for years and never had such an issue. Maybe you're due for a system reboot - you know, a fresh start.
