Default 7.2 to 7.1 Session Compatibility

Is there a way to exchange 7.2 sessions with a 7.1 house without going to the 5.1 -> 6.9 format?

I'd like to be able to move sessions around without losing Instrument tracks, or any of the 7.1 format features. Most studios around town are still 7.1 and scaling back to the 5.1 etc format is pretty destructive.
