Default Pro tools 2018 midi

This may have nothing to do with 2018 as it’s a new keyboard that I never tried in 12.83.

I have several USB midi input devices all working OK but today I connected a Yamaha mx61 keyboard. Checked it was set to USB out on the keyboard. Checked it was listed as a device in About My Mac but in MiDI interfaces in pro tools it’s not there. My cheap dumb midi keyboard and drum pad are there and working but not the Yamaha. Does anyone have any ideas where to look next?

Mac OS latest verson, MAC Pro, Pro Tools 2018, plugged directly into a USB port.

check that protools is not filtering it out (i.e. unticked) in Setup>Midi>Midi Input Devices

No, simply not there at all.

Yay, just fixed it.

Needs Yamaha Steinberg drivers installed, reboot and as if by magic it appears.

They are here for future reference;

Any drivers or software packages you haven't installed? You need to see it in Audio MIDI Setup, System Info doesn't necessarily indicate that the correct driver has been installed.

Chuck,

Yes, correct. Installed yamaha/steinberg drivers and all working. I posted a link to them but my post went for moderation so it’s not appeared.

Thanks
