I don't think what you're talking about here is legal from the standpoint of being able to rent out or even loan (doesn't matter whether you charge or not or let your buddies freeload) your PT software which is what it seems like you're talking about.

You can't have the same license on 2 different iLoks but you can have two different licenses on two different iLoks. New PT approx. $700 US; new iLok $40 range or so. Problem solved.

You said something about buying an upgrade license. You can only buy one of those per interface. So unless you have a second interface you can upgrade , you'll have to buy the full version for the second license.

Or look on eBay and the classified section here for more reasonable prices.
