pro tools 10 is normalizing audio on import
Hi, everytime i import audio from old sessions pthd10 (last update) brings the clips as if they had been normalized.
This even after several clean installations what ever i work 10.6.8 or .10.8.5 And not only on import audio but also if i open an old session any clue ? |

Hi thats wierd .
Maybe they files in your session are zoomed instead of normaliized . Try resseting the zoom to default view .

hi, thank you very much for your reply but, i only look at fader meters and unfortunately, they are constantly close to the full scale meters

Ok :-/
If you check the old session and the audio is healthy in terms of gain its suppoused to be imported in that same way . Can you elaborate the process in detail ?

Re: pro tools 10 is normalizing audio on import
sure very simple - these are sessions recorded with pthd7 or 8 and i simply opened them with pthd10.
When i realized there were an issue with the audio gain i tried the two methods i'm familiar with : import session data in a new session. Or just import audio (in a new session) during the early years i used to normalize some audio on vocals but they're marked as "norm" or "gain". In revenge others hadn't been normalized and these are the ones where i think i have issues i can clearly remember that i wan't recording and trying to be close to the full scale meters (too risky) |
