Phase question really need explanation.
Prior to 11 I never had this problem. I have a basic pop song that I'm mixing that is recorded with all mono tracks
1 vocal track 1 kick track 1 Snare track 1 acoustic guitar track If I play this song while i'm mixing in pro tools it shows left and right audio channels in my master fader. If I put a phase scope on the master fader it's showing it's in mono (+1) Why would that be when I clearly have both left and right audio levels on my master fader? This never happened in Pro Tools 9. It always does in Pro Tools 11. What's confusing me is that if I add a stereo reverb plugin to any of the mono tracks the phase scope then reads it's in stereo. back in pro tools 9 adding a mono reverb did not make the phase scope read it was in mono.

Re: Phase question really need explanation.
To be stereo you need a different signal on the left and right. The tracks you described are all mono tracks, even though you are *theoretically* mixing them in mono. Unless you pan one or more tracks left or right you are still just sending exactly the same signal to the L and R channels. Therefore, it is mono.
When you add a stereo reverb plugin, it processes the mono track and creates a difference for the L and R channels, i.e. simulated stereo. |

Re: Phase question really need explanation.
Even if I pan left and right it still shows mono.
