midnam out of order (filelink included)
I recently bought Pro Tools 10 and hooked it up to my Korg Kronos.
All is well until I try get the correct patch names. Here is what I did: -I created a Korg KRONOS.midnam file in the Kronos editor (by SoundQuest). -Put the file in C.\Programs(x86)\Common files\Avid\ProTools\MIDI Patch Names\Digidesign\Korg -Edited Digidesign Device List.middev (added) a copy of the lines for Korg KARMA but canging modelname to KRONOS. -Set my Kronos up in MidiStudi (no problems so far). I can record from and play on my Kronos but... when I try to change patch i get the message: "An unknown error occurred while attempting to parse this instrument's patch name document." Trying to change the file (bottom left button in patch name window) I get the same error message. Any thoughts on where I went wrong?!? You would believe the guys at SoundQuest knows how to generate a decent file... If anyone has the knowhow to examine the file for errors... you can download it here: http://www.filefactory.com/file/4owd..._KRONOS.midnam __________________________________________________ ______________ SiSoftware Sandra ID Host Name : Sivert-Dator Workgroup : WORKGROUP Computer Model : OEM System Product Name Serial Number : System Ser********** Chassis : Desktop Mainboard : ASUS P6T DELUXE Serial Number : MS1C8CB******** BIOS : AMI (OEM) 1102 12/18/2008 Total Memory : 24GB DIMM DDR3 Processors Processor : Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz (4C 8T 2.67GHz, 2.68GHz IMC, 4x 256kB L2, 8MB L3) Socket/Slot : FC LGA1366 Chipset Memory Controller : ASUS X58 I/O Hub 2x 3.22GHz (6.43GHz) Memory Controller : Intel Core Desktop (Bloomfield) UnCore 2x 3.22GHz (6.43GHz), 3x 8GB DIMM DDR3 1.34GHz 192-bit Memory Module(s) Memory Module : Kingston 99U5458-005A01LF 4GB DIMM DDR3 PC3-10700U DDR3-1334 (9-9-9-25 4-34-10-5) Memory Module : Kingston 99U5458-005A01LF 4GB DIMM DDR3 PC3-10700U DDR3-1334 (9-9-9-25 4-34-10-5) Memory Module : Kingston 99U5403-034A00LF 4GB DIMM DDR3 PC3-10700U DDR3-1334 (9-9-9-25 4-34-10-5) Memory Module : Kingston 99U5458-005A01LF 4GB DIMM DDR3 PC3-10700U DDR3-1334 (9-9-9-25 4-34-10-5) Memory Module : Kingston 99U5403-034A00LF 4GB DIMM DDR3 PC3-10700U DDR3-1334 (9-9-9-25 4-34-10-5) Memory Module : Kingston 99U5403-034A00LF 4GB DIMM DDR3 PC3-10700U DDR3-1334 (9-9-9-25 4-34-10-5) Video System Monitor/Panel : Philips 237EQ (1920x1080, 23.1") Monitor/Panel : SHP SHARP HDMI (1920x1080, 64.4") Video Adapter : AMD Radeon HD 6450 (SM5.0 650MHz, 2GB DDR3 1.2GHz 64-bit, PCIe 2.00 x16) Graphics Processor OpenCL GP Processor : Caicos (160SP 2C 650MHz, 2GB) Compute Shader Processor : AMD Radeon HD 6450 (650MHz, 2GB DDR3 1.2GHz 64-bit) Storage Devices WDC WD10EADS-00L5B1 (1TB, SATA300, 3.5", 32MB Cache) : 932GB (F:) SAMSUNG HD103UJ (1TB, SATA300, 3.5", 7200rpm, 32MB Cache) : 932GB (C:) WDC WD30EZRX-00MMMB0 (3TB, SATA600, 3.5") : 3TB (E:) Generic- Compact Flash (USB2) : N/A (K:) Generic- SM/xD-Picture (USB2) : N/A (L:) Generic- SD/MMC (USB2) : N/A (I:) Generic- MS/MS-Pro (USB2) : N/A (J:) PLEXTOR BD-R PX-B920SA (SATA150, BD-RE, HD-DVD-R, DVD+-RW, CD-RW, 4MB Cache) : N/A (D:) WVO UNWDA7CTEJSL (SCSI, BD-R, HD-DVD-R, DVD+-R-DL, CD-R) : N/A (G:) WVO UNWDA7CTEJSL (SCSI, BD-R, HD-DVD-R, DVD+-R-DL, CD-R) : N/A (H:) Logical Storage Devices Sivert (F:) : 932GB (NTFS) @ WDC WD10EADS-00L5B1 (1TB, SATA300, 3.5", 32MB Cache) Reserverad av systemet : 100MB (NTFS) Data (E:) : 3TB (NTFS) @ WDC WD30EZRX-00MMMB0 (3TB, SATA600, 3.5") Hard Disk (C:) : 931GB (NTFS) @ SAMSUNG HD103UJ (1TB, SATA300, 3.5", 7200rpm, 32MB Cache) Removable Drive (K:) : N/A @ Generic- Compact Flash (USB2) Removable Drive (L:) : N/A @ Generic- SM/xD-Picture (USB2) Removable Drive (I:) : N/A @ Generic- SD/MMC (USB2) Removable Drive (J:) : N/A @ Generic- MS/MS-Pro (USB2) Optical Drive (D:) : N/A @ PLEXTOR BD-R PX-B920SA (SATA150, BD-RE, HD-DVD-R, DVD+-RW, CD-RW, 4MB Cache) Optical Drive (G:) : N/A @ WVO UNWDA7CTEJSL (SCSI, BD-R, HD-DVD-R, DVD+-R-DL, CD-R) Optical Drive (H:) : N/A @ WVO UNWDA7CTEJSL (SCSI, BD-R, HD-DVD-R, DVD+-R-DL, CD-R) Peripherals LPC Hub Controller 1 : ASUS LPC Interface Controller LPC Legacy Controller 1 : T0 A5-13 Audio Device : ASUS HD Audio Controller Audio Device : ASUS NI Caicos HDMI Audio [AMD RADEON HD 6450] Audio Codec : ATI (AMD) HDMI Audio Disk Controller : ASUS 4 port SATA IDE Controller Disk Controller : ASUS 2 port SATA IDE Controller Disk Controller : ASUS 6121 RAID Controller Disk Controller : ASUS 64xx/63xx SAS Controller USB Controller 1 : ASUS USB UHCI Controller #4 USB Controller 2 : ASUS USB UHCI Controller #5 USB Controller 3 : ASUS USB UHCI Controller #6 USB Controller 4 : ASUS USB EHCI Controller #2 USB Controller 5 : ASUS USB UHCI Controller #1 USB Controller 6 : ASUS USB UHCI Controller #2 USB Controller 7 : ASUS USB UHCI Controller #3 USB Controller 8 : ASUS USB EHCI Controller #1 FireWire/1394 Controller 1 : ASUS VIA VT6308 1394 OHCI Controller SMBus/i2c Controller 1 : Intel ICH SMBus Printers and Faxes Printer : Send To Microsoft OneNote 2010 Driver (1200x1200, Colour) Printer : Microsoft XPS Document Writer (600x600, Colour) Fax : Microsoft Shared Fax Driver (200x200) Printer : EPSON Stylus Photo R265 Series (360x360, USB, Colour) Printer : Adobe PDF Converter (4000x4000, Colour) Scanners and Cameras Scanner : Canon WIA CanoScan LiDE 200 (Scanner, USB) Peripherals Network Services Network Adapter : Marvell Yukon 88E8056 PCI-E Gigabit Ethernet Controller (Ethernet, 100Mbps) Operating System Windows System : Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate 6.01.7601 (Service Pack 1) Platform Compliance : x64 Windows Experience Index Current System : 4.3 Last edited by sivert; 12-29-2012 at 03:20 PM. If someone could tell what's wrong with the file I'd really really really appreciate it...

Re: midnam out of order
Hi!
How are you finding the integration of your Korg, with the Mbox Pro and Pro Tools 10. I have a very similar system to you which I am setting up. With respect to the software issues you had, how is that working within Pro Tools 10? For example, I believe it will still not work as a plugin as its not supported (I.e. vst not supported). Have you got around this, used a wrapper or something else. Would be keen to know how you are getting on, and how your software and hardware (including connections to and from Mbox etc ) are configured. Cheers Mark |

Re: midnam out of order
Sorry for late answer...
Nah... I Think the idea of using the Kronos as a plugin is bad (Think you can only use one sound simultaneously then) What I do is to Control the Kronos with PT10 and sending the sounds to the Mbox to blend with the rest... Haven't really gotten down to bouncing yet but I may have to record each channel to hard drive Before bouncing (not shure)...
