Default Attention mirrored drive door "wind tunnel" G4 owners...

A friend brought this to my attention:

https://depot.info.apple.com/generic/index.html

You can exchange your really noisy power supply for a more quiet version for $20. You have until June 30.

Has anyone done this and how are the results?

I placed my order some time ago, and I believe they're just starting to send them out now.

We should know soon.

I just ordered a power supply/fan replacement kit.

Apple said 6-8 weeks. Oh, and don't call or write to harass us - it will show up when it shows up.

I thought this would be great, til I found out the mirrored drive door G4 I have ALREADY HAS THE QUIET Power supply in it! The machine is just bareable until the second fan kicks on (it's on a thermostat I assume) it's like a feakin 747 taking off. But according to Apple, the machine I have has the quiet supply. OH WELL. At least this machine is in a machine room, but we were planning on getting another one for a second PT's room where the computer is going in the same room. Does anyone know if the 1.42 Ghz G4's have the same "Quiet" cooling system?

I found a link on G4noise.com that leads to a German company called Verax. They seem to have an even quieter solution. While not approved by apple, they obviously have enough faith in their product to seek approval.
