Default Commit Up To This Insert bug with mono>stereo plugin

The scenario:

A mono track has 4 inserts and the last insert is a mono>stereo plugin. When using Commit Up To This Insert with any of the first 3 inserts, the newly created track becomes a stereo track and the mono>stereo plugin is completely missing.

I have a feeling this is due to the fact that when Committing the track, PT simply bypasses the mono to stereo plugin as a part of this process so the resulting track is stereo.

Regardless, the plugin you didn't Commit should be on the resulting track so that's absolutely a bug and I logged it.

Try this: Make the mono>stereo plugin inactive, then commit. If that gives you the desired mono track, then you can drag the inactive plugin to the new track and make it active again

Thanks Albee,

Thats a sensible workaround. Does anyone else know if this was addressed in any updates? I am running 2018.3.
