Default Sonivox Eighty Eight

Hello all,

Sonivox 88 will play but, once put in record mode, is silent with no input signal showing on the meter. I'm on Windows 10 running PT 2021.3.
All other VIs are working fine if inserted in the same channel.
Is this a known issue? Best solution?

Works OK here on Windows 10 (but I’m using PT 12.5.1 HD)
Are you using the SONiVOX EightyEight2.5 (Update)?

If you are using the EightyEight2.5 Update, my only other suggestion is a total longshot that worked for SONiVOX Orchestral Companion Strings –
try either disengaging or engaging loop record

Thanks very much for the response. Yes running 2.5 (which I think is the latest). I have indeed tried the loop/no loop workaround to no avail. Also tried uninstalling and reinstalling. The odd thing is it worked a couple of months ago but now it doesn't. I'll keep tinkering around. Much appreciated!!

Now that I think about it, I think it was working properly on 2020.12. Only after I updated have I noticed this.

My PT 12.5.1 HD computer lists my Samples drive as “K”.

Decided to test SONiVOX EightyEight2.5 with PT 2021.3 installed on a 2nd computer (which lists my Samples drive as “E”), so I had to click the Settings Wheel to change the location of the Sample Content Directory – then hit the Rebuild button for the Browser Database.

This gave the “Missing Sample Files” pop-up – so I clicked OK to locate them.

Noticed I had to double-click the “Samples” Folder to show:
E:\Sound Libraries\SONiVOX\EightyEight2.5\Samples
as a single click only shows:
E:\SoundLibraries\SONiVOX\EightyEight2.5

Had to double-click a few times, before it would reset the location.
It now records OK in PT 2021.3

Perhaps try resetting your Samples location and hit the Rebuild button, to see if this will then successfully load a SVX file and record OK

Thanks VERY much for your time and effort and insight.
At this point I have decided to just call it a day with Sonivox. I went to Plugin Boutique where I purchased to download the program again and they have a statement about catastrophic problems with current Windows updates and Sonivix. I wound up ininstalling all Sonivox VIs, deleting them from my plug ins folder, re-installing PT 2021.3 and now every thing is back to normal (sans Sonivox). Much more trouble than I wanted to experience. Thanks again.

No worries - I'm happy I got to try both SONiVOX EightyEight2.5 and PT 2021.3 for the first time!

Initially I thought you may have inadvertently added an Audio track, instead of an Instrument track - but I've ruled this out, as this would have generated this Message:
“1 audio track could not be record-enabled because it doesn’t have both an input and an output assigned”

I stumbled on this when setting up an Instrument track:
(Alt + double-click on Mix page) gave me an Audio track, instead of an Instrument track!
However, I can't reproduce this, so I'm assuming my Alt key must have been temporarily stuck.

Anyway - good luck with your music!
