D-Show Venue ecx problems

Hello,

I got V Remote version 1.0.3 from http://appsolutesoftware.com.au/ to control my Avid D Show Venue running V 3.1.1.286

The first time I started it , it worked great.

The next few times I tried to log in it wouldn’t connect to my console. I tried three routers, Cat 5 cables, reinstalled the software and it still will not connect to my console. I’ve tried a DHCP and manually setting the ip. Nothing. My console is running software version 3.1.1.286 and my iPad the last east version for it. I reinstalled the ecx card software and still won’t connect.

Any ideas? It’s a third party software. I can send a screen shot if need be. I get a message that says unknown server type with my iPad. I get a waiting for connection error on the console. If I unplug the router I get a 0.0.0.0 in red error on the consoles interaction/Ethernet control screen.

Checklist since V-Remote is just another kind of VNC client:

1. Could you connect a computer directly to ECx port (automatic IPs like 169.254.x.x should get assigned to both) and try any free VNC client? If it works, then it's not D-Show to blame.
2. The same, but through your router. This would check for router configuration and other stuff.

When you say you tried installing the software again, do you mean v-remote or ecx?
You should try both
