Default PT 11.3.2 Delay Comp issue

All,

I am hoping that the collective group can help me with an issue I am having.

One of our PT:HD rigs (11.3.2) is having a delay compensation issue. We are attempting to using an AUX channel as a processing chain for noise reduction. The AUX contains an EQ, NR, DeEsser and Compressor and is fed by a few audio tracks. The AUX, in turn, feeds a DX Sub Bus for Printing of stems.

This works fine in 4 of our 5 mixing suites. In one room, trying to do an Offline bounce causes Pro Tools to crash. Deselecting the 'offline' option allows me to bounce these tracks, but all of the other stems (VO, MX, FX) are printed early by varying degrees (several frames according to the 2-pop).

Removing all of the plug ins from the Dx-Process AUX makes everything print correctly, but I obviously lose all of the processing.

What is going on and how can I fix it?

This is a Mac Pro (non trashcan). 10.8.5. 48GB RAM. Using internal SSDs.

Is delay comp turned off on that aux track?

I don't know if it matters but this is the first thing I think about. Second thing is, are you saying the same session works okay in 4 of 5 rooms?

You may have a plugin issue. Some are running native, some using DSP?

Pro Tools is stating that they are all Native.

I have tried the session in the problem room and removed one plug in at a time and still have the same issue.

The session works correctly in 4 out of the 5 rooms UNTIL it gets to the 5th room, in which case it gets broken and won't work in any of the other rooms.

ProTools has a Delay Compensation problem when mono subpaths of stereo paths are processed individually. It's all fine when printing on audiotracks but problems beginn when offline bouncing.

maybe the 5th room has a different i/o setup.

just a hint...

Those two statements do not co-exist.

Anyway, as made said above there is something unique about the 5th room system that is a factor, whether it is audio IO, Win/Mac OS, Eucon/Icon/HUI/none, plugin version, Native or HDX hardware

Also, you said

What is your session's total delay comp value? Does that value make sense with this statement? Is it close to the maximum allowed DC value? Is there one plugin that is causing most of the delay comp time?

Thank you all for the help so far.

I agree that the statements seem somewhat at odds, but that is what I am experiences: If I remove ALL of the plug ins the track plays back properly. Removing any one plug in at a time, testing after each one results in audio that is not correct until all the plug ins are removed.

The System delay is around 8500 samples. Much of this is due to a bunch of backline processes that create all of the folddown and various deliveries we need for each session.

That said, the Dx Process AUX does have the single highest delay of any of the tracks (Delay comp is Orange and a bit over 2k samples).

The AUX feeding the Dx Process chains, of which there are two, ARE using mono sub paths of a stereo send. I didn't have an opportunity to see if that is the culprit or not, but based on what 'Made' mentioned above it is a place to start.

In this issue, the two Dx Process chains (of which only one is actually being used) do not have the same latency, as one has not been populated with plug ins.
