Default Practical Limit to the number of fade files

It seems that I created too many fade files and now I can't re-open a session. Anyone else had this problem??? Any solutions, or guidelines?

delete the fade files - PT will rebuild them when you load up the session.
cheers,

try starting a new session with the same sample rate/bit depth etc. and import the tracks from the corrupt session. This was a workaround for me some time back - however it turned out that my audio drive needed to be cleaned up. After reinitializing, it now seems ok.
Once you're back up and running with your session, consolidating any tracks with many fades will certainly take a load off your cpu.
cheers,
otto

Otto is right, but the session isn't corrupt... there's just too many fades. I think the limit is (or used to be) 250 (don't quote me on it).

Try what otto said - import tracks into a new session, but you will probably have to do a few tracks at a time -- not all at once -- or you'll get the same problem. I guess you'll have to consolidate some tracks which will eliminate the need for the fade files on those tracks... then close the session, drag your fades folder to the trash, re-open the new session and skip all fades if it asks you for them. Then try importing the rest of the tracks. Some of this may be overkill but it should work.
