Default Strange Error Message

alright everytime i open pro tools and try 2 quit or save or open a new file i get a strange error message that says "could not complete the close session command because neo assertion in "/volumes/development....." then a bunch of other stuff. if anyone knows what this problem it would help me alot because i cant do ANYTHING. Do i need to re install pro tools? if so how can i do it safely so i dont harm any of my projects?

The fact that it is putting up error/warning dialogs about "Neo" probably means your databases are corrupt. Try deleting your databases and see if the problem goes away (I'm sorry this is very lame and not a good work around).

Follow the instructions for trashing databases in the General Troubleshooting thread...

There's also JC's downloadable application you can use to automatically delete databases:

It works nicely.

Your sessions will not be affected. You won't, however, initially be able to get back into them from the "Open Recent" prompt when you first open Pro Tools. That'll be blank, so you'll have to access your sessions from the drive you record to (only the first time; then they'll return to the "Open Recent" window).
That's pretty much the only change I notice after trashing preferences and databases -- that, and it takes Pro Tools a bit longer to boot up. Cheers
