Default Problem Importing More Than One Audio Track

I'm having a problem where I can't import more than one audio track at a time via the import dialog without getting an error:

'Unknown error when selecting xxx.wav'

I can drag & drop as many tracks as I like from the Finder, and I can import tracks one at a time from inside the dialog. I can do everything else from inside the dilaog, such as preview tracks. Just can't import more than one...

Anybody seen this?

Running LE 7.4cs3 & OS 10.5.2

I am not on Leopard but i have had similar problems going back to 6.x. A work around I found was to isolate the problem track (importing a track at a time until I found one which wouldn't import) then deleting half the regions then trying to import again and repeating the exercise until I had found the suspect .wav file(s). I then used the Audiosuite Gain plug and zero gained the region(s) (ie. made a new audio file copy). I could then import the track. A bit time consuming but when you are doing detailed film work it is worth it! Ultimately your problem is a corrupt audio file in the session.
Good luck!
P.S. Or maybe going back to an earlier session file backup will solve the problem!

lae777 - the situation you're describing is a different thing. As I say, I can import the files as long as I do them one at a time - there is no one particular culprit. The problem is only if I try to import any number of files greater than one. Anywhere.

It may be a Leopard problem as deluxe suggests. Bit hard for me to check this as both my machines are now on Leopard. But it was never a problem before.

Sorry Peter,
I wasn't concentrating! I hope that you managed to solve your problem though.
Good Luck.

I still have the problem. It happens on both my MacBook Pro and also on my MacPro dual quad, both running Leopard. It's particularly frustrating because I am accustomed to auditioning files from inside the import window so I don't use the 'drag from the finder' option that much.

None of the PTools gurus I know have ideas of what might be causing it, so any help appreciated.

I'm having the same problem with the import window. One at a time is fine... but it's very frustrating. I'm running PT7.4 on 10.5.6 on a Dual Core Xeon Mac Pro. Anyone know what's with this? I think it started happening after the recent QT update.

Actually seem to have fixed the problem by trashing preferences and restarting as described in the General Troubleshooting Thread. Yay.
