Default FCB1010 Expression Pedal "MULTIPLE FX"

Cool feature of the 11R. Perhaps everybody else here already knows this, but I just recently stumbled on to this feature.

I was having some trouble with level control switching between "normal" song level and then turning up for solos. Sometimes I make this happen just using the volume pot on my strat, but of course when I back it off for rhythm parts the character also changes and I really just wanted the same sound but just to sit back in the mix better. I tried using the Volume pedal on the FCB but finding and repeating levels was too inconsistent for me--I don't have the foot dexterity. I hunted around a bit in the eleven rack editor and discovered that the Expression pedal which defaults to WAH can ALSO be used to control multiple (up to 4) separate parameters of any FX within your current patch.

Plus it STILL switches over to WAH control when you stomp that button on your foot controller, so you don't lose that function.

One of the cool things is you can use the 11R editor to set the "travel" range of the foot pedal. In my case, I set it so that the pedal at full toe would goose the volume by approx 4db (This amount differs depending on which patch I have up). and at full heel the volume is at "normal". This gives me very FINE control over where I sit in the mix. Full toe for leads or full heel for rhythm parts. Plus (at least on the Berhinger FCB1010 which has two expression pedals) I STILL have the normal volume pedal for GROSS volume adjustments.

Also, as I mentioned before you can control FOUR separate parameters at the same time, setting "travel" range individually for each; even inverting the control (i.e. full toe means LESS of something, not more) So now I have patches with reverb and chorus for the rhythm parts that I can now reduce those elements and turn up using the one pedal for when I need to punch through with a lead.

I feel like I am doing a poor job of explaining this--It sounds complicated but it's super easy and gives you really great control over your live sound. Also I hope that I am sharing a cool trick and not just rehashing something that everybody already knows.
