Default Recording fine for 2/3 takes, then 4th just...fails

Community, weird annoying glitch I've never seen before. Recording to mono audio track, all fine. After three or four takes, the next take goes goofy. Arm record track, Arm record on transport, hit space bar, cursor moves BUT no red recording on the track. Input signal present and correct, playback fine, but it's as if the track wasnt armed to record (except the Transport would tell you if that was the case). Anyone got a Scoobie? using Fireface with TotalMix; had same problem with Babyface interface.

Hmmm.
Hitting spacebar doesn't put you in record...it puts you in Play.
You have to hit command spacebar.

Or hit 3 on the numeric keyboard.

And make sure you don't have a really short selection made in the timeline.

I'm gonna be really really embarrassed if its that I've been clicking PLAY in the Transport three times, and then hitting the space bar the fourth time....

Thanks ever so.

Or after you record arm the track hit f12 on the keyboard. No messing about with hitting record and then play.

Hmm. So I tested and the space bar DOES kick into recording mode once you've armed the track and the transport. So the mystery remains...

Perhaps you are in punch record mode then? In punch record mode (the little p shows on the record symbol) all record arm tracks record whenever the transport moves.
