Playback web audio and record it in PT at the same time?

I need to playback some web based audio and record it at the same time in PT or some other audio app at the same time. I have a Mac pro. Would I just jack the line out into the line in on the back of the Mac? How else could this work?

If you can do it digitally that would obviously be ideal. I do this all the time with an optical cable.

You could also do it without cables using Soundflower or Source Nexus.

Just wondering, why do you need to record the audio from the web into PT? Why not just download the file and import it?

There was an application called Audiohijack to do exactly this...

Not what I meant. There are plenty of reason to capture a stream either video or audio from the web, I do it all the time for live streamed events. I was just wondering exactly what the OP was trying to do because there are other options available if the event is pre-recorded vs. live.
