Default Re: locking on startup -MC control_logic9

crashes Logic if you Start EuCon software first

If Logic is already open and you launch EnCon it will say LogicPro in the display but will not show session / project info (ala faders, panning, scribble strips) on the MC Control .. faders move to the lowest position as it trys to lock up .. then it looks like it has lost communication ... starts bogging down and everything starts moving slower ..

but, it works just fine in safari / finder / mail / donkey kong

thank you for looking

john

Hi John,

Please repair your permissions with the Disk utility.

Then RESTART your computer.

When you restart the computer, please turn on the MC Control before restarting, so it is on when the computer boots.

Also make sure your EuControl software runs automatically when your machine starts, and that it is GREEN (sees the MC Control) before you start Logic.

Cheers

the fix appears to be the newest version 2.5.5 of the software ... but wait there is more ..

my friend said that Euphonix told him that his Logic Template is to large ... so you need to open Logic in a fresh template to blow it out then open your large templates ...

that works ...

cheers

That's good to know John. At least my Logic opens to no template nor previous session, so I have not seen this issue.

Still, Euphonix does recommend repairing permissions after installing even other software, just in case...

Cheers

hi nick,

he did try the repair permissions as you suggested ... did not help .. this small or empty Logic startup (autosave or template or the menu that asks what you would like to open) seems to be the only thing in conjuction with the 2.5.5 software update that came out yesterday ...

question: i think you are the nick that is looking into my sync I/O ... if so can you be contagious over the internet .. LOL feel better

cheers

john

I am assuming that "the user" has been in contact with Euphonix support ?

This is not a common issue. Currently there is an ongoing case (assuming it is the same user) regarding this.

So far it seems to be isolated to the user system, meaning the same project files open without issue on other systems.

Solution will be posted if there is a smoking gun.

solution (as i posted in the other thread about EuCon Support) is as follows:

straight from Euphonix - his template is to large so the solution is to startup Logic without his template open (a blank session will work) then open his large template ... weird issue ... but he is back up and running

thank you again for your help

john
