Default Connection question

I'm just starting to use PTLE with Leopard and I'm not sure how to connect everything. I've heard that there are some FW connection issues. I have two external firewire drives. One is FW800 and the other FW400. The FW800 is dedicated to Time Machine, and I'd prefer not to change that. My FW400 drive is dedicated to Protools. The way I have it set up now is the macbook pro is directly connected to the FW800 drive through the FW800 port, the FW400 drive is connected to the FW800 drive, and my Mbox2 pro is connected to the second FW400 port on the FW400 drive. Does this make sense? Is there a better way to do this?
Thanks in advance.

IIRC, the mbox2 pro wont work with FW800 at all due to a limitation of the firewire chipset.

as for the FW400, i think its supposed to go CPU > HDD > 003 so that way if your 003 shut down (god forbid) it wouldnt wreck your drive.

personally i always unmount/power down/disconnect my FW drive before I launch PT, but I know its a requirement on a laptop.

Thanks for the tip.
Do you know if I connect my FW800 drive directly into the FW800 on my MacBook pro, then connect my FW400 drive into the FW400 port on the FW800 drive then connect my MBox2 pro into the FW400 port on the fw400 drive whether that will work? Does that make sense?
