There is a thread but its three pages into it before they get to the solution. (I feel bad for the guy who wiped his drive and started from scratch only having it be a Microsoft IE8 Problem.)

I was almost putting my own head through a wall yesterday after LE7.4 stopped working for no apparent reason. Google didnt help me identifiy the problem... I was a very angry person.

Ive been using Pro Tools for a couple of years now but never signed up to this forum. I signed up today... and I was so happy to see a sticky telling me that IE8 stops LE from working. Problem solved.

... great forum, great resource, great support. Will be sure to frequent here from now on.
