Install Problems with LE 6.4

Greetings everyone!

I'm having trouble installing LE on a brand new install of WIN XP SP2. Here are the specs:

Athlon X2 3800+
MSI Neo4 NForce 4 Platinum
2 Gigs of RAM
120 GB SATA Hard drive.

At first, the install of ProTools itself seemed to go fine, but would hang and freeze the computer when it got to installing the Drivers for the Mbox. The PC would also freeze when plugging in the MBOX and trying to install after XP located the hardware. When trying to run ProTools the PC would reboot. After doing some reading here, I updated the PACE system drivers. While that stopped the reboots, the computer still wouldn't recognize the MBOX. After trying to remove the first install of Pro Tools to start all over again, it seems like I've corrupted the install of Pro Tools altogether! Now it won't let me unstall the program at all If anyone has any insight for me, it would be appreciated greatly. Thanks!

try 7.0? i had the same reboot problem with 6.9, and it was fixed by going to 7.

Is PT 7 a free upgrade for someone who owns 6.4 or 6.7?
