Snap to Frame... Strip Silence to Frame?
Is there a way to have Strip Silence strip to the nearest frame on a grid? Or is it milliseconds only?
Also - is there a way to get soundbites to extend out to frames automatically rather than manually? Whenever I export an OMF from PT to Avid, I find that the 'Quantize Edits' function only creates tiny little one frame audio peices that it sticks on the end of soundbites... which can be a nuisance for Avid editors. |

Re: Snap to Frame... Strip Silence to Frame?
Neither of those features is able to work on a grid. It is a good idea, though. The last time I tried to edit everything on frame boundaries (I gave up years ago), the omf export still had lots of those single frame things. I work mostly with 29.97, so I suppose mathematical rounding was to blame. What I'm saying is that you might still have those problems even with the features you ask for.

Re: Snap to Frame... Strip Silence to Frame?
Thanks so much, Mr Fairbanks. I was hoping there was a way around it, especially since I have had the same experience of single frames showing up on Avids. I will have to extend out my regions by hand to the closest frame as to please those finnicky editors! : )
