Default pro tools controller

What is a good external controller for pro tools that has motorized faders excluding the command 8? I've looked into getting a m audio project mix as i hear it can be used to control pro tools. Is this true? Cause I can get one for about 400 and I'd rather go that route as I am on a budget.

Not sure if the M-Audio Project Mix works with LE or just M-Powered....Easy to find out I guess....
We use both a Yamaha 02R96 (expensive) and a Behringer BDF2000 (very cheap) very successfully as PTs controllers on our LE systems.
The Behringer is basic 8 x 100mm motorised faders, basic transport controls and perhaps some other programmable buttons..(haven't tried to setup beyond what I've mentioned). Smallish deskprint... Installed easy with USB.

Also, i've heard that the behringer is not touch senstive. Is this true? Is this really any different from anything else?

Hi There,
Sorry about that....my memory failed me....Behringer BCF2000
http://www.behringer.com/BCF2000/index.cfm?lang=ENG

Not touch sensitive.....
But I think by far the cheapest motorised controller out there.....
We use it very successfully to control transport, volumes and track selecting/muting.

$400 is a steal for a ProjectMix. They go for between $850 to $1000 used on Ebay.

True. The major drawback would however be that it not emulates HUI but Baby HUI, meaning for instance that you can't instantiate plug-ins with it.
