5.3.1 upgrade??

I am going to be upgrading to xp home and 5.3.1. is there anything i should be aware of??
Will the install take all my settings,plugins,etc... from my previous version??
I want to use the latest and greatest but would like a seamless change over. Any thoughts or suggestions???
Is motormix compatible with the latest version???
