Unlinking ilok and Avid accounts.

Can i please have the official line on how to Unlink ones ilok and Avid accounts.
I would like to know this as a matter of course irrespective of whether i choose to link or unlink.
Obviously you need to give permission (if its unlinked) but it then becomes linked as default.
I unlinked last time around after going to PT12
This time around with PT12.2 update… iirc.. after giving Avid permission i reset the unlink status on the ilok account but my Avid account still shows linked and there is now no option on the ilok account …apart from changing password.

I asked that very question a while back and didn't get an answer.

I would like to know too.

The question is even more important in respect of what happens if you have more than one iLok account. My worry is that if I upgrade one license on my Avid account that is linked to a different iLok account than the other lisenses, i.e. a different iLok account to the linked one, what happens?

Will I still be asked which iLok account I want the license to go to, or will it automatically be sent to the linked (incorrect) one, which would then cost me a transfer fee to get it over to the other account .... except they are not transferable 'at this time'.

As you saw, there is no unlink option there. As stated in the account page, "Linked iLok.com accounts allow you to easily deposit activation licenses after purchasing new Pro Tools products and AAX plug‑ins" so it's really just there for convenience.

You can always enter a different User ID during the process of redeeming/activating new products or upgrading existing ones.

Do you want your iLok ID field cleared?

Yes please, clear that field for me. I'd prefer not to have a 'default' linked iLok account, because I have two. And at some point, I'm bound to screw up and end up with something on the wrong one if there is a default.

Plus, it wasn't clear, at the time of linking, that there would be no way to unlink.
