When I copy audio and paste it somewhere else.....
If I... say... record a guitar track to the click track and listen back to it, it sounds fine and on beat. Yet if I copy the track and paste it later in the song so that I don't have to record it again, I can't get it lined up to the beat. It's like it's just a "hair" off. It lines up correctly the first time, but when copied and pasted somewhere else, it doesn't play to the beat anymore.
What's confusing about this is that I used to not have this problem. I have 3 full songs recorded where I copy parts of audio and paste them in other parts of the song so I don't have to re-record parts. Yet out of the blue, suddenly it's not letting me do it anymore. Why is this happening? |

Re: When I copy audio and paste it somewhere else.....
Try this: Turn on grid mode, set the grid to 64th notes, copy and paste. If that doesn't work, turn grid mode off and nudge the track till it lines up. I've never had this problem.
Good luck, Greg

Re: When I copy audio and paste it somewhere else.
You may have your session settings at a different sample rate than your hardware. In other words, If you have the digital clock set to an outside source which is at a different sample rate than what's specified in your session settings.
Or... Are you moving the regions while in grid mode? I copy and paste regions all the time with no problems. I usually have the grid set to "bar" if I'm arranging phrases. Just make sure your selecting the region right on the bar. |

Do you have a tempo change in the song?

Re: When I copy audio and paste it somewhere else.....
I messed with the grid and was able to get the audio on tempo, thanks.
Yet somehow in the process, I created a new problem. Now when I record new audio, once it's finished, the audio I have recorded looks opaque. There is no audio graphic on the audio file, it's just a solid color. I need to see the audio graphic so that I can crop it accordingly. What did I do to cause this? |

Re: When I copy audio and paste it somewhere else.....
sounds like you set the track from Waveform to Block.
You know where you choose if you want to drawn in automation and just say choose volume? it's in there.
