MLCD 2.2 available on the web!

I'm proud to announce that a new version of MLCD, 2.2, is available for download. This version uses the same key as 2.1 and 2.1.1/2.1.2 so you can update for free if you own one of these versions. If you have 2.0.1 or earlier, contact customer support at (650)-842-6699 for upgrade info.

How does the new version differ from 2.0.1?

Twice I downloaded following the above link and all I got was a lousy 2.1.2 MLCD.

What gives? I've wasted a lot of time.

My sincere apologies for your wasted time. The fault was all mine. When I made the web page for the download, I checked the link, the download, etc. and everything worked fine. After I saw your post, I went back and checked the page, and apparantly where the link was that said "Download Installer", Download linked correctly to MLCD 2.2, but Installer was still linked to the older 2.1. I had modified the previous update page and thought I got it right, but somehow I missed that part.
Very, very sorry for the inconvenience. It's fixed now. (promise) Be sure to hit Reload on your browser when you get to the MLCD page at http://www.digidesign.com/serv/ftpmaps/mlcd.html to make sure that you get the correct link on the page, The link is to ftp://ftp.digidesign.com/pub/support...CD/mlcd2.2.hqx

The full details about MLCD 2.2 are in the README, but briefly the main points are:

MLCD 2.2 uses new SCSI code to provide better compatibility. We support the Blue & White G3's and other approved machines with one version of the app. It works better with OS 8.6 than previous versions did. Users who had a lot of buffer underruns (and couldn't trace it to cabling, termination, or other standard problems) are encouraged to try this version.

We now support 6X and 8X CD recorders -- this includes the Yamaha CRW6416S and several drives from Teac and Plextor.
