Fans Going Wild .. ver 19.5.0.322 on macbook pro 2014
one audio track, no audio clips in session .. open one plugin (anyone) .. heat goes up to 180 + degrees in Mac Fan Control .. hmmm .. not sure why .. will keep an eye on it ..

I love it when fans go wild! It might just need a good blowout...Apple Store will do it for you, or you can do it yourself with a can of compressed air (there are youtube tutorials for deep cleaning too). Other than that, what has changed (besides latest version of Pro Tools)? OSX? Plugins? Drivers? |

Did you delete Avid Link? Uninstaller is in Applications >> Avid Uninstallers. Also you could look at Activity Monitor from your utilities folder and see what's requiring so much processor power...
