Multiple OS Mac Firmware question

Hey All, I have an Artist Mix which I use on mavericks (still using PT10HD at home) which I have been using the artist with no trouble.

I now am also editing on Adobe Premiere and I use an external disk to boot to High Sierra, when I loaded the EuControl software with a later version it has asked me to update the firmware.

I have not done this as I am worried it may interfere with the smooth running of my Mavericks PT10 system.. what is the official thoughts on using Artist mix on two different OS - will a newer firmware cause trouble in my old (primary ) OS?

Having EuControl on high sierra is a nice thing but not as important as smooth trouble free operation on Mavericks.

Go to the latest eucon and firmware on all operating systems. It only works better. There isn't a lock-in to anything (like the operating system or version of Pro Tools) -- it's (Eucon) just always getting improved.
