Default Help....pro-tools will not work

Okay, I bought the m-audio fasttrack usb interface, it came bundled with pro-tools essential. This software while it loads will not work, it keeps giving me errors about the interlock and to download current drivers from paceap and reboot....I've done that and still get the same error....I'm overly frustrated. I'm running windows vista 64 bit on a amd quadcore processor....there should not be any problems......so how do I get this working?

I should add the processor is a amd phenom x4 9150e running at 1.8 gig, the chipset is the amd 780g and there is 4 gig memory

there are some guides on this forum but you should be made aware this is a USER forum and avid tech support will chime in from time to time. Try reading http://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=193636 this first. If these suggestions don't work you may want to use your support call because vista is a PITA, I would expect you would have problems with most software you try to run on it.

heres a freebee from that link i posted. Try running as administrator.

thanks.....I've looked at the guides and there is nothing about my specific issue on them.....only one reply from avid to a similar question which is why I ask specific to the amd processor....I have full admin rights as it's my computer and set that way but I did try running "as administrator" to the same frustrating result. I think it's more the stupid pace interloc garbage.... but since avid "requires" a sandra report.....

Bill - Have you tried all the optimizations in the Windows General Troubleshooting thread before trying to run the installer? It's likely it would help.

I would also do a complete uninstall of all PACE and Interlok components, restart and reinstall.

right now I've tried everything, especially since I found the default admin stuff in vista (thanks bill gates for being a pain and think you need to save us from ourselves)....but still when I install I get errors at the 2005 c++ 64 bit redis install (even though it's already installed on my computer), the software never askes about installing the pace crap.....and even after all, when I go to paceap.com and install the newest windows drivers I still get the same error saying it's not there (but it is in control panel...) and to install and reboot.......

a small note, I did install torqLE that came on the same dvd disc, it installed with NO problems.......
