Default LE Latency

Hi. I'm considering purchasing an LE system (like the 002 or 002R), but I'm a bit concerned about the issue of latency during recording. I see lots of good things said about the systems, but I also see people complain a lot about the latency. I would be curious to hear input from users of these systems. Thanks.

Default Re: LE Latency

There are 2 solutions to latency with the 002. First, low-latency mode makes it a non-issue BUT you give up the ability to use plugins and aux sends on your record-enables tracks. The work-around is to double-assign using aux tracks with plugins so you can for instance, hear verb on the vocals while tracking. The other and better solution is to use a real powerhouse machine (like the Allenstein "Best Desktop" or a high-end MAC so you can work at 128 buffer setting while recording. Once you are done with tracking, up the buffer and lay in all the plugins you need.
