Default AAF import broken in 6.7 (all the way up to cs8)?

Just upgraded from 6.4 to 6.7 and it looks like you can no longer import AAF files. 6.7 (up to cs8) won't import AAFs previously exported by 6.4 or new AAF files exported by 6.7. OMF files seem to work fine. Anyone else having this experience? Any workarounds (besides OMF)? What's the best way to report the bug to Digi?

Thanks,

Jason

Hi,

AAF import is working fine here. Do you own Digitranslator or DV Toolkit?

When you say "won't import" do you mean that you not able to select the AAF? Is an error message posted? Does the import appear successfull but then the tracks are not displayed? Please describe a step by step example of the problem.

regards,

I do own the DV Toolkit. Steps to reproduce:

1. Select Import Session Data
2. Choose existing AAF (known to import correctly in 6.4.1)
3. Go through import dialog, select destinations as new track

Results:

Import completes.
New tracks show up, but contain no audio regions.

I can send example AAFs if it will help.

Other info. The LE session has 44 tracks, a mix of audio, MIDI and auxes. This is on OS 10.3.7, dual 2.5 G5 2.5G RAM.

Thanks,

Jason

le session can not have 44 audio tracks,
do you mean 44 with aux included?
aren't the audios in the region list?
or they appear as missing files?
when you said 6.4.1,you're not talking LE

Does your AAF contain any embedded media? Does it reference any SDII files?

If you create a new session, record 10 seconds of silence on a new track and export that as AAF, can this be imported back into the session successfully?

That works fine. Something else is going on. Trying to import these AAFs into this new sessions give me "7 audio files missing" message. Something else is going on. I'll look deeper...

Thanks,

Jason

LE sessions can have 44 audio tracks - they'll only play the first 32.
