\"Default Midi Instrument\" bug?
This drove me nuts last night until I figured out how to "fix" it.
I have a default midi instrument set up (an Alesis DM5 drum module). However, that instrument plays on EVERY midi track that I assign to an IAC buss. Why? I can certainly mute the DM5, but then I can't use it for another midi track. The midi track assigned to the Vibra (IAC1) played the Vibra PLUS the DM5. Setting the default instrument to "none" cured the problem. It didn't matter which IAC buss midi channel I was using (I used midi channel one), and the DM5 is set to receive ONLY on channel 16, so it's not a duplicate midi channel issue. It seems I should be able to run Vibra (or other D/C instrument using an IAC bus) along with my default midi instrument on another track. But with this implementation of the "default instrument", I can't - unless I'm missing something. Is there a workaround? ------------------ LW
