Space License says Subscription..

My subscription ran out a week or so ago, and I'll renew soon, but my SPACE license isn't working as it seems the plug in is tied to a subscription.

BUT I've owned that plug in and it's been in my Ilok account and on my ilok for over 10 years. Used it before the latest subscription stuff.. Can't seem to get it to authorize just off my license.

Any ideas??

I've started a case with Avid, but yeah like I'll get anything from them till next week earliest...

This is clearly an avid issue with the plug in and not being able to validate with a standard license, only the subscriptions license.. But Hmm seems pretty lame. There was not an upgrade to new version fee or anything for this plug in.

Really need to work today and the next 3 days through the weekend.

I know its only 99 bucks for me to renew, but issues like this sure do make me hesitant once again, as if i wasn't hesitant enough.

Maybe this stupid little thing is the last straw to have me committing to Logic, as I planned to do last Jan but put it off to see how the year went in AVID land..

Rant done.. sorry, just been feeling more and more discouraged by PT as many of us have..

Yes I own Space , Revibe, and I'm not going to renew my subscription if they take them away that is wrong

My update plan expired on December 3rd and now I'm also getting the same message when launching a project with Space in it. I've had a license for Space on my PT iLok since 2007 but obviously PT's no longer validates the license via iLok and just checks your plan status. I guess it's time to open a ticket, but I'm not holding my breath for being able to access any of my projects until I pay the ransom...

If you own a perpetual Space license, you can uninstall version 12.1 (updated to run off the Pro Tools Plan or Pro Tools HD Plan license) and install version 12.0 (from your account of the Space product page downloads).

Searching the KB for Space License returns articles like this which might be helpful.

That worked! Moved v12.1 to unused plug-ins folder and re-installed Space v12.0 and it's activating again!

Glad that helped. Space Plug-in License Information needs a rewrite to clarify all of this so I'll add that to my list.

Well, yes and no. Space licenses used Avid TLL Products as the Publisher (inherited from acquiring TL Labs). FF about a decade after acquiring them... we added the bonus plug-ins for the Plans with the 12.2 release and needed to use 1 license for them. You can't wrap a plug-in for multiple Publishers, so we had to re-wrap Space (and gave it a 12.1 version to identify it). So...

• Space (AAX/RTAS) and Space (AAX/RTAS/TDM) authorize Space up through 12.0
• Pro Tools Plan and Pro Tools HD Plan authorize Space 12.1
