Default Windows 10 | Drag&Drop from Soundbase to Explorer & other Software

Hi,
I saw the latest 12.7 update and the new shiny library management system. Since this seems one of the best, I got interested in buying Pro Tools.
However I use other DAWS as well and would like to use Soundbase for all of those DAWs.
Is it possible to Drag & Drop audio files from Soundbase into other applications on Windows 10?
Is it possible to run Pro tools and other Daws at the same time?

Thanks a lot
Jason

Hey Jason,

Currently, Workspace doesn't support dragging files outside of Pro Tools. So, this wouldn't really work in the workflow you've described. That would be an interesting feature though. What you could do is use Soundbase to search for files, then right-click on them to "Reveal in Explorer", then drag them into the other DAW. More steps than you probably want, but that would be one way to do it.

And, yes you can run Pro Tools and another DAW at the same time. However, if you're using the same audio interface you want to make sure both DAWs are at the same sample rate.

Thanks a lot for your answer !

I spend a lot of time with sample browsers and their feature set over the last weeks. Pro tools is seems to provide the best experience in this regard. Maybe its in your interest to sell Soundbase as a separate product as well?

The workaround lowers fast paste working and reduce productivity, I guess.

Seems like I need to wait a bit more until a universal browser is available

cheers
Jason

From my experience, if, as per Avid's Windows optimizations, you "Run As Administrator" for Pro Tools, you can't drag-and-drop to the timeline.

Hey Kyle glad to see you've responded to something remotely recent. I hope you can take some time to review the PT | Dock threads. We are still concerned with some functionality and support response. I recently posted a YouTube video reviewing the dock which you can find a link to over in that forum.
