Default Sample drive and PT session drive disappear

I have a SSD for my OS w7 (64) and 2 600 GB raptor drives for sample and PT sessions. the raptor drives keep disappearing while im working on sessions and then I have to reboot for them to appear. Its hard to get anything done. Is this a compatibility thing or anyone else having a similar issue with internal drives?

Post a Sandra report. It helps. This problem sounds like it's motherboard related. Your chipset may be going or there is some odd driver issue but, it's all just blind shots until you give some more info. If you have a particularly hot ambient temp and/or your chipset is overheating, this could be it. If you are overclocking, check your cpu temps. More stabs in the dark however.

RAID is not supported by PT, so this:
SiImage 50GB (RAID, NCQ) : 47GB (C:)
might be a problem. I would disable RAID completely in BIOS and see if that helps at all(you might want to image or clone your system drive first).

Yup, that sounds about right. You'll definitely have to clone the drive first though.

the 50gb drive is a OCZ revo SSD drive, and my system drive. Not super familiar with how they work but doesn't it have to be a RAID for it to work?

also don't you find it weird that the other 2 drives are the ones disappearing mid session rather then my C drive crashing?

The revo drive might need to be instantiated as a raid to work. I'm not sure. I haven't used one of those yet.
But I do know that raid isn't supported by pro tools, and it's showing up in Sandra as raid. so if you're having problems using pro tools you need to try it with out that drive. If your OS is installed there you could try to clone the partition on to a spinning disc drive and boot up.

It's funny; this is the second thread in so many days about strange Pt behavior with a Sandra report showing one of those pci-e ssd's.
