Default USB External Hard Drives

I am wondering if any USB 2.0 would work with Pro Tools LE in a Mac mini computer. It is slightly easier to find an USB hard drives these days to me than a FiereWire one. So I ask you this to see if you can help me. Is it necessary any other specification such as the Oxford 911 chipset in the FireWire cases?

Thanks and hope your answers!!
