The bottom line is that there’s a small market. The vast majority of serious ProTools users, including professionals, use macOS. Windows is a good operating system for certain things, but audio production is definitely not one of them. I’m sure it’s mostly for financial reasons that I have it doesn’t put much R&D into the Windows version. Most people, like myself, who started using ProTools on windows, will get frustrated and eventually switch to Mac. And then be frustrated for different reasons, like the constant compatibility war between new macOS versions and ProTools versions and the increasing requirement for more and more round and CPU power of that apple now prevents people from upgrading on their pwn. We need a Linux port.

You should look into installing macOS on another partition or drive on that machine and try ProTools and compare the two. You can find instructions online. It’s pretty damn easy these days now.
