I´m getting this message when trying to use Ddesigns plug-ins like Compressor II or EQ II
The DSP Manager IS in Plug-ins folder, why can ProTools 3.4.2 not see it?
Any Help ?

Are you sure it's pro tools 3.4.2?
If so, then that is your problem, you need a newer version of Pro Tools.

I had the same problem and I could solve it. First I removed all authorizations. Then I printed out the installation protocolls (PT, PlugIns etc.) I saved in the PT folder. Acording to the protocolls I put all PT components, PlugIns etc. into the trash, deleted trash, restarted my Mac an rebuilt the desktop, did a TechTool Pro-scan on my harddisk, defragmented the HD, restarted again with MacOS standard extensions on and reinstelled PT and all PlugInst etc.
After this I replaced PT 4.3.1 with PT 4.3.2 whitch I downloaded from digidesign website. Since this (4 weeks ago) I never had to read the message again and all works fine. Hope this will help You too.
Good luck
Matthias

I was getting this as well. I got d3 as part of the MIX pack promo and the message comes up everytime I try to instantiate it. And this is with version 5.0! Still haven't gotten it to work correctly.

Sidereal,
I had the same error when I tried to launch D3 after updating. Seems like the installer may hae a problem with updating D3. All you need to do is go to the PT 5.0 cd and scroll to the bottom of the cd where the folders are. You should see a folder called plugin updater or plugin updates (I don't have the CD here). Inside there is a DAE folder. Go in there and get the focusrite D3 plugin and put that in your DAE folder. Make sure you take the "bad" D3 out of your plugin folder and drag it to the desktop (so you can trash it if this works). Relaunch pro tools and be prepared to insert you D3 authorization disk when asked.

Problem solved. DSP Manager has to be only in extensions folder & not in Plug-ins. Just take it out and everything works fine. Stupid......
Since yesterday I´m runing PT|5.0 No problems yet. Thanx to all responders.

Regards......cool
