Default Pro Tools 9.0.5 Rumor

I was looking at the Waves compatibility grid and saw an unreleased version of Pro Tools... perhaps Avid has already seeded a Lion-compatible upgrade to some plugin companies for testing?

http://www.wavesupport.net/Objects/I...ts/V8_mac.html

Basically just trying to get my own hopes up about a Lion-compatible update!

It would be odd to assume that they weren't working on either Lion compatibility or something new. They are always working on something. This is however one of the few times we have seen a hint of a version ahead of time. Although as Criag states nobody has a clue what 9.0.5 is. My first guess is Lion compatibility.

Makes you wonder what happened to 9.0.4

I don't know were the post on 9.0.4 went but when it came out I commented that it should have been 9.0.3.1 and someone (Avid or DTS) replied that yes it should have been that but there was a glitch in the versioning scheme

found it

9.0.4 was only for those using HD Native with the Magma Express Box and 2011 Macbook Pro with Express Card slot.

I still don't understand why it will take until September (correction). The Lion beta has reportedly (from friends and media) stable for months. They have had plenty of time to at least hit a early to mid August release. It sounds like PT still isn't there yet for the Mac. And yes, I'm aware of other audio apps that work just fine in Lion. Heck, even Parallels already has an update ready so it works in Lion.

You've been a member since 2002. The fact that PT compatibility takes a few months after a major OS upgrade should not be a surprise.

Agreed. If PT "isn't there yet for Mac" then I don't know what platform PT has been running on for the past 20+ years...

Hmm.. Maybe I'll post these questions in this thread to anyone who might know (or guess):

- Once a Lion-compatible version is out, is the price of the crossgrade still going to be what it is now?

- Will the Lion-compatible version be a free update for those who already have Pro Tools 9?
