Default 20 Track limit

Extreme noobie here.

I am working with a studio pro bono on a setup of protools. I'm computer savy but I am new to Protools.

We are running a winXP home on a 2.4ghz PC with 1gb of DDR ram. Upgraded version of PTLE 6.4 with a digi002 rack. Currently we are experiencing a 20 track limitation. They have the full version of LE so I would like to know if our computer is just incapable of processing any more tracks or is it Protools.

Prompt:
"There are more active audio tracks than available voices, as a result, one or more audio tracks will not play."

Any help you can offer would be appreciated.

Or maybe some of them are stereo??? one stereo track uses 2 of your 32.

Just a thought...

see I read that somewhere online. You mean to tell me Protools LE only allows 32 tracks and stereo tracks take up 2 tracks.

You can run 99 tracks on a TDM rig but not on a LE rig.

This guy wants to know is there anyway to get more than 32 tracks. For instance, do we need to use a MAC to get more tracks. This guy has the notion that a MAC is the answer to everything when really, if the abilities and output created by both computers are the same then why waste time, and funds converting to MAC. Unless it gives us more tracks.

His words, "Is there anyway around it."

My question, do our system requirements meet and exceed the needs of PTLE?

Thanks again, wish I had your patience.
