Will the TCE plug-in do that for you?
Do you have -LIVE-?
And isn't D-Fi a part of PTLE 6?
I'm soooo confused
I did that exact same effect last November for someone ...and I can not remember...what the HELL I used for it.

check out the pluggo OSX thread by Simon666

I've done it before with the Time Comp, expansion. It takes a LOT of playing around. But at least you don't have to fork out for an plugin or give some joker a cheque.

It's a while since I tried it, but you need to seperate the section you want to slow down. Then seperate that region into equal parts.

For example: split 20 seconds into ten equal parts of 2 sec. Then use the plugin, and change each region one at a time, making the next slightly longer then the previous.

For example:
First region 2sec change to 2.25sec
Second region 2sec change to 2.5sec
Third region 2sec change to 2.75sec
And so on...

On the last region you could try adding some kind of dissortion, to create that 'grinding to a holt' sound.

You'll most likly have to try this out at least twice before you get something that works. There maybe a better way of doing this, that doesn't involve money. In which case, I'd be very interested myself.

Hope this helps

Nath

If you have any outboard gear to record to use the audio scrub tool in PT going from left to right by hand gradualy slowing down till you stop. Then bring it back in PT & there you go. FREE!

The vari-fi plug in does this exact thing.
...oh but I think that's part of the d-fi plugs which you said you don't have!!! sorry if that's the case!

Nope. Wouldn't that be nice though???

Personally, I'd either use Live or Pitch n' Time to do this effect...I have Vari-Fi as well, but like the higher degree of control offered by these...

Guess you could also pick up Scratch or Final Scratch and get an even closer emulation...
