Default Unable to install PT -- "procedure entry point" error

I'm unable to get the Setup program started from the Pro Tools 7.4 DVD. I can see all of the files, but when Setup is chosen, I get this message:

The procedure entry point could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll.

Pro Tools has never been installed on this machine. The target drive is a dedicated NTFS drive, prepared according to the instructions in the Mbox 2 Mini Getting Started booklet. I'd appreciate any advice offered.

Here is the Sandra report:

That, plus the VIA chipset with an Intel processor has been a no-go for most everyone that has tried it.

Okay, I could install the drive into my other computer. Please take a look at the Sandra Report for that one and let me know if you forsee any problems with the Pro Tools install.

You will have no joy with a single internal HD, PT LE requires separate physical drives for system and recordings.

<<Logical Storage Devices
Hard Disk (C:) : 466GB (NTFS) @ Hitachi HDP725050GLA360 (500.1GB, SATA300, 3.5", 7200rpm, NCQ, 15MB Cache)
Optical Drive (D:) : N/A @ HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH22NS50 (SATA150, DVD+-RW, CD-RW, 2MB Cache)>>

But a second internal SATA HD is a cheap investment.

But hold it... what this...??

Operating System
Windows System : Microsoft Windows 7 Home 6.01.7600
Platform Compliance : x64

I predict problems until Win7 64 bit is supported with new drivers! See my signature.

One more thing, "There are known issues with NVidia graphics cards." There is another thread running right now on this topic.

Isn't PT LE wonderful!!

Yeah, I was going to take the already prepared hard drive from the XP computer and put in in the Vista.

But the rest of your message.... omfg.
