Installation Error!!

Okay, it goes like this.... I've been waiting to get the 001 box for SO LONG.... and finally, after months and months of waiting... I GET IT.. Now for the problem. I pop the PCI Card in, following all the directions in the book. And I start up the computer. The "New Hardware found" pops up, so I proceed, following exactly what was in the book, and I hit "Have Disk" and direct the computer to the exact folder I was supposed to. So when I hit "Next" It goes to a screen that says "There was a problem installing this hardware 'DigiDesign Digi 001' an error occured during the installation of this device"... And no matter how many times I do it, i still get this message. Whatsup with that and how do I fix it?

If it helps any, this is how my system looks....

CPU: Intel P4 2.6 GHz
Motherboard: Soyo P4 Approved
Memory: 512 MB DD
Hard Drive: 120 Mb HDD 8Mb cashe
Soundcard:S/B Audigy PCI
OS: Win XP Home Edition.....

Whats going on? Nobody's ever seen this problem? Can I get some potentials? Something that MIGHT be the problem? This is really urking me. Can someone help me please?

I don't know if anyone else has used this motherboard....

You might try removing soundcards / firewire cards and see if that helps.. Is it 6.1 that you are trying to install? Might get the 6.1.1 update. Also try updating drivers for MOBO / Video Card etc.

Otherwise you may have to try tech support. Sorry I don't have anything better for ya.

Actually, it's 5.3.1.... Man, this is giving me the biggest headache.. I tried calling Tech Support from the number that was in the book, and it wouldn't go through

Try installing the 5.3.1 wav driver, manually from the CD first, if I remember, it may be under Beta software on the CD.

Hopefully this will force windows to recognize the digi hardware, thus "showing the way" to PTLE

Install the wav driver, re-boot your machine, check in your control pannel, under sounds and audio devices, and see if Digi 001 1&2 is an option under "Audio" and "Voice"

If it is....

Then select it, hit apply, ok, and try installing PTLE 5.3.1

King, it didn't say anything on the CD about Beta......... I looked throughout the whole thing. Could it possibly be somewhere else on the CD?

Hey guys thanks for all the support, luckily i did find the problem. The 5.3.1 edition i had was only compatible with Windows ME and 98SE... Since i'm running XP it didn't work... Luckily I found all the right drivers, and everything went smooth... Thanks all, Mike
