Default Feature needed: import audio from MXF file

Because of the new AVE, I ask for MXF or Pro-Res Proxy files from video editors. Pro Tools needs to be able to import the audio from an MXF file.

Vote here:

and here:

Thanks!

(ok, now I'm going to launch Adobe Media Encoder to do this and a bunch of other things I can't do with Avid Pro Tools...)

Correct me if Im wrong, but OP1A are to be encoded, and never meant to be decoded, as they are final delivery/playback only files.

I think you're right. But this document lists "Qualified MXF Codecs" for Pro Tools. And there seems to be many variants of MXF meant for different purposes. Not to mention this intent from a 2006 white paper.

What do you need as far as audio? From the editor.
My AEs export Video with a mix down.
But not OP1A, I get a DNXHD36.

PM me, I have a an AAF with Video down mix and audio down mix workflow, along with all the audio clips.

Where the video, mixdown, audio mix down gets imported along with all audio clips via AAF import.

It's all MXF, and no need to copy files, I work directly from the folder created by Media Composer.
