If that’s a fact (regarding no acceleration and speeding fans) it’s really sad. I mean, it’s 2017. I still want to try out a unit to learn about it and more about Aja and their drivers.

It does have hardware for encoding. Encoding is a far more CPU intensive process, so makes sense.

A modern PC or Mac will handle DNxHR easily.

That's true. No issue with cpu decoding pro res or dnxhd video
